Lucy's Two!

Lucy has turned 2.

A bit more than a month before her birthday she injured her foot--maybe broke the cartilage? Severely sprained it? Bruised the bone?  Who knows.  We can't figure it out and neither can her doctors.  But the injury was enough to merit a hot pink cast, which she cutely modeled for the picture.

I almost cried when she came in the door with it on her leg.  She didn't walk on it for the rest of the week.  I'm telling you, it was a muscle building experience to carry two kids around all the time!

These pictures are actually of the day she went to get the cast removed.  That's why she's so happy.  Actually, I'm not sure she completely understood what was happening, but she was happy to be going somewhere with daddy.

Another happy note: the cast came off just in time for her birthday.

Her current loves are books, cooking, the number 7, triangles, the sand box and playhouse outside, the piano, purses, the phone, Pomplamoose, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, "the Temple Song" (which she knows almost all of the words to and whispers along with me when I'm singing it to her), and her little brother.  And mommy.  And daddy.  And going anywhere with keys.

We love you, Lucy-girl!!

We meet again...

Just a quick note to say we are back in the Salt Lake Valley.  It's been a few years, and we weren't expecting to come back.  But we're here, and will be here for a few years at least.

Our kiddos are growing so fast, it's hard to capture everything we want to of their innocent lives.  Lucy is starting to speak so much more and Brighton is as active as ever.  It's fun to be their mom.

(It's hard to get them to hold still long enough to get a picture--we were lucky to get two smiles in this one.)

Lucy's First Christmas

This is the Christmas Lucy will least remember, but Andrew and I will remember it for a long time. We celebrated our own Christmas before we left town (we went to AZ for the holidays to be with my family). The days leading up to it, we wrapped the presents around the tree, and let Lucy play on the floor beside them. She was fascinated by the lights on the tree, and the fun wrapping paper.

When it came time to open presents, she didn't understand that she should rip the paper off of the gifts. That's okay. Maybe next year...

And here, she's sporting one of her new headbands and flower clips that her Auntie Summer made.

This was the first meeting of these two cousins. They are about 10 months apart. Natelle is giving Lucy a kiss on the head. I think Lucy doesn't know what's going on.

And then, Natelle tried to give Lucy hugs while Uncle Reed was holding both of them. It was fun to watch.

Merry Christmas? Indeed it was. :)

5 Months...

Well, here we are. 5 Months ago, we brought home our little Lulu, and she has been the greatest delight. I am including a bunch of pictures to show how she's grown.

Here's what she's doing now:

  • laughing at nothing

  • talking gibberish to us and to herself

  • licking and chewing on whatever she can get to her mouth.

  • rediscovering her toes

  • almost sitting up on her own

  • and she rolled over by herself for the first time two days ago! How fun is that

I hope you enjoy the snapshot of her life over the last few months!
